The American Red Cross will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. This is the charge of our Congressional Charter. Our Charter provides for us to deliver disaster services free of charge. We are not goverment funded. In order to provide relief to victims of disaster, we depend on the donations of the public and private sectors. We always need your help. When you give, it may be as an individual, a group, or as part of a fund raiser. When you give, you will know that you have helped a fellow human being in a time of need.
The Oconee County Chapter received its Charter from the American Red Cross on August 3rd, 1918. We are chartered to provide the services of the American Red Cross. To that end, we provide immediate needs under Disaster Services, Armed Forces Emergency Services, and, we also offer Health and Safety Services. As a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, we are dedicated to serve the citizens of Oconee County, and the nation as needed.
